IT'S obvious that the water in Spain is a lot harder than what you may be used to. The tell tale signs are there when you do the washing up and need half a bottle of liquid, or washing your hair and finding that you're in the shower for half an hour longer than you remember it taking. Steve and Paula Dyer have over 45 years worth of experience in the Water Treatment Industry. In 1981 Steve set-up his own business supplying his services to a large range of water treatment companies both in the domestic and industrial market covering the whole of the UK.

Now that they're in Spain, Steve and Paula are finding that the people that they talk to are aware of the problem, but are unaware of how to treat the problems. Steve said “Hard water is a problem and the warning signs are everywhere. Lime scale in kettles, showerheads and scum around baths provides ample evidence of far-reaching effects that can cause untold damage to household appliances and hot water systems. Even bath time and laundry are impacted, due in part to the need for extra soap, detergents and cleaning products in hard water households.”

So what exactly are the benefits of having softer water, apart from going through less soap and shampoo? First of all there are the money savings: money savings on the care and maintenance of washing machines, showers and anything else that has the potential to suffer through limescale build-up.
