Upgrading your Pool

If you do not have a heater for your pool the chances are that you will spend the winter just looking at it. Thinking ahead to next summer, why not use the close season to install a few items to upgrade the pool and make owning one a more rewarding, and less problematic, experience?

There are plenty of ways in which you can improve your pool and here are just a few: -

Automatic pH control - takes the guesswork out of water balance. If the pH of the water is incorrect the chlorine cannot work properly. If pH is too high, or too low, you will spend more on chlorine and may develop limescale or suffer from erosion of the grout.

Auto-cleaners - tireless ‘slaves’ that, apart from their basic function of cleaning the floor (and often the walls) of your pool, dramatically improve water circulation and thereby reduce chlorine consumption.

Salt-water system - is the standard sanitising system in much of the world. Improves water quality, reduces chlorine levels to 0.5ppm and feels ‘like swimming through liquid silk’!

Automatic 6-way selector valve - detects when the filter needs a backwash and does it all for you!

Pool-covers - keep the dirt out and most of the heat in, thereby extending your swimming season.

Pool Heat-pump – used in conjunction with a poolcover to enable all-year-round swimming.

Pool Dome - It’s an inflatable, transparent dome for your pool and patio that allows you to enjoy outdoor living, and swimming, in the deep midwinter. (What will they think of next?)

Pool Lights - It is dangerous to use an unlit pool at night. The new generation of colour-changing LED pool lights are breathtakingly beautiful, easy to install, last for years and years and cost next to nothing to run.

Tiled Steps - give the kids somewhere to play where they are not out of their depth – and give the adults somewhere to sit with a cold drink.

Safety Ladder Steps – allow easier access and egress and will allow a dog or cat to escape from the pool with ease.

Decking - the new Eon decking is visually indistinguishable from real hardwood. It has a 25-year guarantee and requires absolutely no maintenance. The non-slip finish, even when wet, makes it ideal to replace, or cloak, defective pool surrounds.

Katchakid Safety Net - Remember; whether the pool is in summer use or in winter hibernation it presents the same dangers to your family and pets.

Many, many thanks, to our hundreds of pool clients, for making 2008 our best year yet. We hope all your wishes come true in 2009 and that you continue to enjoy life and prosper.
